WARNING Signage

Why is it important to have safety signs?

It goes without saying that safety signs have been ever more important over the last 12 months. If we didn’t always pay attention to them before, we most certainly do now. We can’t go far without seeing a social distancing safety sign prompting us to keep 2 metres apart.

Increased scrutiny of health and safety has brought about the question why is it important to have safety signs? Safety signs are everywhere; from the floor we walk on to the doors we walk through, there is no getting away from them.

Safety Signs Save Lives
Mandatory Signs (blue signs) are currently everywhere we look. These signs indicate an action that is ‘mandatory’ for users/visitors/witnesses to follow. With the current ‘mandatory’ social distancing measures of 2 metres in place it is a good time to review and other blue signs you may have overlooked.

Yellow warning signs could potentially save your life as they offer information that if understood would prevent you from coming to serious harm.

Red prohibition signs forbid readers from taking action and therefore if followed will prevent serious injury or even death.

Although indirect, safety signs are important and do save lives. We are proud to help towards signage on-site and in factories helping to stop accidents in the workplace.

Multi-hazard Signs
With the increase in how many safety signs we are required to display, multi-hazard signs are becoming more popular. These are like a rainbow of safety and warning notices all displayed on one board create one reference point for all health and safety information.

GSM Online Label Sales can manufacture these to your individual specifications and can offer a bespoke quotation. Call our team or contact us to receive yours.
