Why Engrave In-house?
You may wonder why GSM would sell you a ‘half-made’ label? But this is so detail may be added at your factory or on-site at your leisure. In 50 years of manufacturing we have learnt that all company requirements are different. Some know what data they require on the data plates for their products before the products are manufactured whereas others will not know what is required until after they have manufactured their products. Engraving labels in house then becomes an economical and fast option for the plate required.

What data can be engraved?
Most data that needs to be engraved or added to a product is variable, meaning that no plate will have the same data once printed. Below is a list of data that is variable and the reasoning behind why it would need to be added to an engraving label;
• Dates – In manufacturing a completion date will be in mind however, this does not always go to plan and therefore it can be a safer option to add the date of manufacture once the product is complete.
• Unique number/customer numbers – For future and/or to recognise products you supply you may include a serial number on your product. Many serial numbers are generated once a product is fully manufactured and some even include a customer reference on their data plates.
• Company reference – Many companies wish to include data such as an employee reference of whom may have constructed, assembled, serviced or installed a product. Once again, this is not something that will be known ahead of time and would therefore benefit from been added to the engraving label once the product is completed.

If you are unsure what information you need to include, contact us to discuss your engraving labels in further detail.
